Jordyn Giddens/The Daily

As a new intern writer for The Oklahoma Daily, I can’t even begin to express my excitement. As is proper, I will start at the beginning.

My name is Jordyn Giddens, and I’m a freshman, born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. At 18 years old, I have won two state writing competitions and many inner-school competitions for my work, and I am currently waiting to hear back from the publishing company to which I sent my first fiction novel.

My motto for life is based around the words of Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” As a new reporter, I want to take Gandhi’s words to heart and write things that will make a difference. I want not only to inspire, but to shake up. I look forward to writing more in the future.
