Staff Reports, The Oklahoma Daily 11:58 a.m. March 11, 2013

OU senior thrower Tia Brooks won her third national title and second-straight indoor title Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Randal Tyson Track Complex in Fayetteville, Ark.

Brooks's throw of 63-0.75 feet set a new personal record for the six-time All-American and made her the first woman to surpass 63 feet in the shot put.

Brooks, who qualified for the 2012 Olympics, will have a chance to defend her outdoor title June 5 in Eugene, Ore.
