Brooks Street to close for sewer maintenance
Beginning Tuesday, the section of Brooks Street running between Classen Boulevard and Jenkins Avenue will be closed for sewer maintenance,
The actual maintenance will take about two weeks, but the road should be opened by Friday, project manager Charlie Thomas said.
The work being done is considered routine maintenance, which the city officials try to get done annually whenever funds are available, Thomas said.
“This is part of Norman’s response to all the crumbling infrastructure that we already hear so much about,” Thomas said.
It’s recommended that people take an alternate route via Lindsay Street or Boyd Street while construct is underway, according to the press release.
