Men's basketball: Sooners score eighth conference win

Junior guard Cameron Clark covers top Kansas State player, Rodney McGruder. The Sooners’ defense held McGruder to 7 points and forced Kansas State to commit 10 turnovers. Clark contributed 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal in Saturday’s heartbreaking 52-50 loss.
The OU men’s basketball team picked up its eight conference win Wednesday night in Lubbock, beating Texas Tech, 86-71.
Key stat: 5. The number of Sooners who scored in double figures. Senior guard Steven Pledger lead the team in scoring and was joined in scoring double figures by junior forward Amath M’Baye, senior forward Romero Osby, junior forward Cameron Clark and senior guard Sam Grooms.
Key performer: Osby had yet another great performance for Oklahoma, finishing with 21 points and nine rebounds.
Key opponent: Freshman guard Josh Gray was the only truly dangerous Red Raider, lighting the Sooners up with 26 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals.
What it means: OU pushes its Big 12 record to 8-5, a solid mark at this point.
Next up for the Sooners: Oklahoma heads back home to take on Baylor at 4 p.m. Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center.
