Women's basketball: Sooners destroy Billikens in bounce-back game
In a bounce-back game for the Sooners, the OU women’s basketball team massacred the St. Louis Billikens, 68-33.
How the Sooners won: St. Louis was disgustingly overmatched in every facet of the game. The game was over before the tip.
Key stat: 28 percent. St. Louis shot just 28 percent from the field.
Key performer: Senior guard Whitney Hand. Hand wasn’t the high scorer for the Sooners but turned in the most well-rounded performances, scoring 11 points while grabbing a team-high six rebounds, dishing three assists and snagging three steals.
Key opponent: Senior guard Jacy Bradley. Bradley was the only Billiken that really got anything going offensively, scoring 11 points.
What it means: Almost nothing. St. Louis is bad, and the Sooners still have a lot to prove after their loss to UCLA.
Next up for the Sooners: OU plays Arkansas at 6 p.m. Friday in Honolulu.
