Oklahoma's Isaiah Cousins (11) looks to pass as Arkansas' BJ Young, right, and Hunter Mickelson, rear center, defend during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game in Fayetteville, Ark., Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012.
The OU men’s basketball team lost to Arkansas on Tuesday night in Fayetteville, ending its three-game winning streak in the 81-78 loss.
Key stat: 43. Arkansas’ two stars, sophomore guard B.J. Young and junior forward Marshawn Powell, combined for 43 of the Razorbacks’ 81 points.
Key performer: Senior forward Romero Osby scored a season-high 22 points in addition to snagging six boards and dishing two assists.
Key opponent: Powell dropped 33 on the Sooners, shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and 7-for-8 from the free throw line.
What it means: OU’s three-game winning streak is over, and its record away from home dropped to 4-2. The Sooners turned the ball over 17 times in the loss, and if it weren’t for sloppy play from Arkansas down the stretch, this one probably wouldn’t have been close.
Next up for the Sooners: The Sooners are off until Dec. 15 when they take on former-Big 12 foe Texas A&M in Oklahoma City for the All-College Classic.
