Regents to discuss equipment for Research Campus at Thursday meeting

Staff Reports, The Oklahoma Daily 7:45 p.m. December 4, 2012

The OU Board of Regents plans to meet to discuss purchased equipment for the newly constructed Information Technology Shared Services Data Center at Four Partners Place on the University of Oklahoma’s Research Campus among other items at its regular meeting beginning 4 p.m. Thursday. The meeting will be held in the auditorium of the Samis Education Center of OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

The meeting will open with items submitted by Cameron University, followed by those submitted by Rogers State University. The meeting will continue at 9 a.m. Friday in the same location with items submitted by OU.

The purchased equipment is part of an ongoing IT shared services strategy by the university that spans data centers on the Norman, Oklahoma City and Tulsa campuses with private cloud technology and updated university infrastructure, according to a press release.

Other items the regents will consider are a recommendation to approve the design of the second phase of the L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park Expansion and Improvements project. The suggested improvements for the ballpark include new fences featuring brick columns and wrought iron panels to be constructed along the Imhoff Road frontage and the replacement of the existing ticket booth structure to closely resemble the ticket booths at southwest and northwest corners of Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
