An attorney for OU head football coach Bob Stoops and his wife, Carol, has withdrawn a protest letter regarding the proposed development of land near the site of a home the couple is building in Norman.

According to city documents, lawyer William Henley sent a letter to the city's planning department Wednesday withdrawing the couple's protest of the development. No reasons were provided.

Henley didn't return calls seeking comment on the couple's protest.

Bob and Carol Stoops are building a home on 20 acres in northwest Norman. Building permits place the value of the residence at $3.3 million.

The planned development on 350 acres adjacent to the Stoops' land includes single family homes, an assisted-living center, townhouses and an elementary school.
