The headline for an April 25, 2012, story,
Sigma Alpha Epsilon boxing tournament knocked out, erroneously abbreviated Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s name to “Sig Ep,” which refers to Sigma Phi Epsilon. Sigma Alpha Epsilon was scheduled to host the charity boxing event.

Student Congress debates, partially approves Consolidation Act, incorrectly reported that Graduate Student Senate would meet at 7 p.m Sunday in Sarkeys Energy Center, Room A235. The Senate is meeting at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Oklahoma Memorial Union's Conoco Student Leadership Wing, 3rd floor.

Relay for Life raises more than $100,000 after 11th annual event during weekend, used an erroneous figure for how much the event raised. The story originally reported the event raised $98,108, but that figure rose to $100,349 by the end of the event, OU Relay for Life chairwoman Elizabeth Auld said. The story also misreported the beneficiary of the money raised. The funds go to support the American Cancer Society. A photo caption accompanying the story in the print edition also misspelled University College freshman Tanner Linn's name.

OU Queer Royalty Pageant 2012, misreported that Wednesday’s event was GLBTF’s inaugural drag show. The group has hosted an annual drag show for several years, but Wednesday’s event was the organization’s first pageant.

Men's tennis: Sooners win first conference title since 1992, reported that the OU men's tennis team won its first Big 12 title in 20 years. While the Sooners did win their first conference title since 1992, the Big 12 Conference was not formed until 1996. OU was a member of the Big Eight Conference in 1992.

‘Moon’ does not promise to engage, the designer of “They Promised Her the Moon” was misidentified. Costume design sophomore Melissa Perkins designed costumes for the show.
An April 9, 2012, a photo caption with the news story,
Arabian hospitality highlights evening, the students were misidentified. They were with the Lebanese Student Association. The caption also misspelled the name of the dance, Dabkeh.

Sorority joins student bloggers for an evening of fashion, originally had Tovana Traylor’s name misspelled. The article also incorrectly identified the major of Tovana Traylor and Charles Atchison as human resources. Both Traylor and Atchison are human relations seniors.

photo caption originally stated the OU Jazz Band performed an interpretation of John Brown's "I Feel Good." It has been corrected to say the band performed an interpretation of James Brown's "I Feel Good."

Health Sciences Center's new education center opens, incorrectly stated the Samis Family Education Center cost $126 million to build. The story has been corrected to say the center was one of a three-part construction project that cost $126 million.
A Feb. 29, 2012, editorial,
Minority diversity vital for higher education in U.S., erroneously stated OU has an affirmative-action policy in regard to admissions decisions. The editorial has been corrected to say the university has an affirmative-action hiring policy, but not one for admissions. Also, the graph in the editorial originally stated the numbers represented the percentages of black, Hispanic and white people in Oklahoma compared to the same percentages nationally. The graph showed the percentages of black, Hispanic and white families below the poverty line in Oklahoma compared to the national percentages.

2 OU teams win first place as Sooners stomp out the competition, incorrectly stated it was the 35th annual Stompdown competition. The event is in its 30th year, it is the Big 12 Conference on Black Student Government that is in its 35th year. The story also incorrectly stated four sororities and five fraternities participated. In fact, three sororities and six fraternities competed at Stompdown. The story also erroneously stated 300 people attended the event. Nearly 2,500 people attended, said Onisia Martin, Stompdown chairwoman. The story also incorrectly referred to the women of OU's Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter as Alphas on second reference. In reference to National Pan-Hellenic Council greeks, the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha are called AKAs or Ks, Martin said. She said the men of Alpha Phi Alpha are referred to as Alphas. Also, a photo that was published with the story misidentified the fraternity of the men shown as Iota Phi Beta. They are members of Iota Phi Theta. The story and caption have been corrected.
The caption of a Feb. 15, 2012, photo at the bottom of the front page of the paper originally stated members of LGBTQF were passing out candy and condoms to students on the South Oval. In fact, they were members of the LGBTQ Advisory Board.
A Jan. 31, 2012, story,
Tickets to OU football spring game free for students, erroneously misreported the process for students to get free tickets to the OU football Red-White spring game by stating students needed to visit the stadium ticket office. In fact, students only need to show their valid OU ID at the gate on game day, April 14, for free admission.
The headline on a Jan. 24, 2012, photo at the bottom of the front page of the paper erroneously misrepresented The Earth Cafe and Deli's relocation by saying it "moves to Campus Corner." The restaurant already was on Campus Corner, but it moved to a new location.

Anti-Sharia bill panders to silly fears, incorrectly stated former President George W. Bush appointed "most 10th Circuit justices." In fact, Bush only appointed six of the 19 judges.
