The Oklahoma Daily promotes civil discussion and debate about issues presented both in the newspaper and on OUDaily.com. Information posted on message boards is not endorsed by OUDaily.com, Student Media or the University of Oklahoma. Individual posters shall be responsible for the contents of their postings.
User comments are approved at the discretion of OUDaily.com staff. Comments will not be approved instantly, but staff will strive to moderate and approve them in a timely manner.
By submitting a comment on OUDaily.com, the user agrees to abide by the following rules:
1. The user agrees to not submit inappropriate comments. Inappropriate comments include but are not limited to content that:
a. Violates copyright, trademark or intellectual property laws
b. Is pornographic, obscene or sexually explicit
c. Violates local, state, national or international laws
d. Contains advertising, spam or solicitation of any kind
e. Degrades others on the basis of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, ethnicity or religion
f. Impersonates others
g. Is libelous or defamatory
2. The user bears full responsibility for comments posted on OUDaily.com.
3. By logging in, you are consenting to the release of your identification to OUDaily.com as well as third parties. By submitting a comment, the user agrees to allow The Oklahoma Daily to print the username and comment in the newspaper and elsewhere.
4. The user understands that a violation of comment rules can result in the suspension of the user’s account and could be subject to further investigation. Information regarding the IP address and e-mail account of a user may be turned over to authorities if there is a justifiable request.
5. All staff members of The Oklahoma Daily and Student Media posting messages must be identified by name and staff position. Persons adding posts who have an official connection to a story topic, such as a group officer or administrator, are encouraged to include name and position with posts.
6. All posts are text-only. No art, graphics, photo, audio, video, Web coding or other non-text elements are permitted.
